I am five days post-op from a hysterectomy and honestly it’s like my carcass has been hung on a meat hook, a la Inanna. I was hopeful that toward the end of the first week I’d be more myself, and more up for writing, but alas, this is the limit of it.
Before we get into the (alarming) week ahead, I do want to say that I was terribly sad to learn of Shannen Doherty’s passing this morning.
She’d had cancer for a while, but her work in 90210 and especially Charmed were so meaningful to me in my childhood and adolescence. In giving life to Prue Halliwell, the much put-upon eldest of a trio of sister witches, she offered a mirror to my younger self as to what life might be like on the other side of 18: that even if I was still beholden to family, I could be professionally accomplished, look good, and, y’know, inherit the coolest magical powers, like telekinesis. Still waiting on that last one, but for her enlivening and enchanting of one of my favorite characters of all time, I am forever grateful. Rest well, Shannen, and fly free.

10:04am: Mars in Taurus conjunct Uranus in Taurus (26*)
On the positive side, this may be the kick in the ass you may have been needing, today’s energy pushes you to do the damn thing. Your output, or production levels, may feel slower-moving these days — there’s really no pushing the projects you’re working on — but this moment could help to jumpstart the inertia. Possibly offers a sudden jolt or event demands your attention and, perhaps, inspires you to look at something with fresh eyes. Exceptionally good for revisions and putting fresh eyes on old projects.
On the negative side: with violence-prone Mars and bringer-of-eruptions Uranus, this is a classic astrological moment for accidents with sharp things (e.g. knives in the kitchen) and, in recent years, gun violence (especially in the United States). This particular moment is also happening right on top of fixed star Algol, thought to be representative of Medusa and known for its violence and headlessness. Rather literal, that.
