Hi everyone,
I hope that December is treating you as well as it possibly can, and that no matter how you celebrate or otherwise wind down and take stock at this time of year that you get some rest built in.
Some of us are getting “rest” unfortunately forced upon us. As y’all know, my Capricorn ass struggles with rest (aka practicing what I preach) in part because I tend toward the workaholic Cap archetype, which, for me, includes a fixation on not missing any deadlines. So, landing in the ER twice this week while working on this newsletter (and book edits) knocked me on my ass like I was getting the shit kicked out of me by Javicia Leslie and whatever woman she’s flirting with this week on Batwoman (except far less pleasurable, because I’d rather fight Batwoman than be strapped to half a dozen different IV drips).
tl;dr I’ve been admitted to the hospital with a perforated appendix and brewing abscess, among other things. Bodies! What are they, and why? The memoirs of a 12th houser.
The final days of autumn can be real fucking literal with that lesson of decay, let me tell you.
At any rate, I wanted to send y’all my sincere apologies that I’m not going to be getting a newsletter out for the Full Moon in Gemini tomorrow, or on Yule, although the one from last year still has some evergreen material if you’re looking for prompts to meditate or journal on as the year’s writing draws to a close.
The next few newsletters to go out will be,
an in-depth breakdown of the month’s day-by-day astrology on January 1st, to paid subscribers only
a New Moon in Capricorn letter on January 2nd, to everybody
a Mercury Retrograde in mid-January (first one of the year! starts early!), to paid subscribers only
a Full Moon in Cancer letter on January 17th, to everybody
& a reminder that interviews with your favorite authors about their spiritual lives and creative practices will resume in February!
Also, I just wanted to say thank you, as ever, for reading Astrology for Writers, which is quickly approaching its 3rd (?!) birthday — it’s absolutely wild to see how much this community has grown both in terms of who it resonates with and the nature of the material, such as expanding out into a class this year. What a dream.
If you would like to continue to support the newsletter, you can do so by becoming a paid subscriber. Subscriptions are currently on sale for $35! The newsletter also makes a great, shipping-free gift for the other astrology-interested writers in your life.
Lots of love, and take it easy for the Full Moon this weekend!
Xx,
Jeanna
P.S. During my second overnight in the ER, I did have the great, great pleasure of overhearing a security guard say, in all sincerity, “it must be a full moon,” and I didn’t have the heart to yell out “NOT UNTIL SATURDAY!” The myth lives.
P.P.S. If you’re interested, you can send any personal tips and appreciation to my Venmo (jeanna-kadlec) or Paypal (jeannakadlec@gmail.com).
