This is not your typical year ahead.
The whole reason for Astrology For Writers’ existence is that it gives you the current astrology through a specific lens: that of a professional, working writer. Here, we focus on the sky as it specifically applies to the many facets of your creative life, and I treat predictive horoscopes no differently.
And so, this is not the sort of generalized year ahead that you’ll be getting from most other folks. There is value there, and you should absolutely read the write-ups from other astrologers you trust. But for our purposes here, as Taylor wrote and Rihanna sang, this is what you came for.
Keep in mind that I’m writing for a ranging audience, from distinguished authors who are entirely new to astrology to other professional astrologers in the field, and so am aiming to strike a balance of accessibility and utility.
I wish for you all a blesséd, healthy, and joyful 2023,
Jeanna
How to Read Your Year-Ahead
I strongly advise reading the horoscope for your rising sign, as it will contain the most accurate information for the planetary transits you will be receiving. If you do not know your time of birth, reading for your sun sign can give you a sense of general themes.
All horoscopes feature seven of the following areas of the writer’s life: You, the Writer; Your Money; Your Writing Routine; Your Home Life; Your Sources of Pleasure; Your Everyday Work Life; Your Professional Partnerships; Your Collaborations; Your Publishing and Teaching Life; Your Career in the Public Eye; Your Creative Community; and Your Psyche.
Of these areas, they have further been broken down into three categories: tectonic shifts, ongoing life lessons, and growth & gifts.
The transits covered include: Pluto in Capricorn to Aquarius, Saturn in Aquarius and Pisces, Jupiter in Aries to Taurus, Venus Retrograde in Leo, and Mars’ Retrograde in Gemini. The horoscopes got incredibly long and comprehensive, and since I already do newsletters with sign-specific horoscopes for each eclipse, I decided to not feature them here.
