One of my favorite things to do is refer folks to other spiritual providers. I do this for a few reason: first, I tend to only offer one kind of reading at a time, and that may or may not align with what a particular reader or client needs. Second, I want to introduce y’all to some of the people I most learn from in a 1:1 or small group context.
While I have a list to this effect on my website,
’s recent missive reminded me that it’s a good idea to re-share my recommendations every once in a while! I would also like to note that these are all practitioners who I personally have had (typically more than one) reading(s) with, and all are either friends or colleagues who I’ve discussed ethics with in recent years. These are all also practitioners who currently have either 1:1 or small class offerings, so some folks who I adore aren’t on this list because they are focused on other career avenues at the moment. If you book with any of these folks, tell them I sent you! A rising tide lifts all boats, etc. etc.

Astrology
Mecca Woods — the woman who is basically single-handedly responsible for me ending up in this field professionally. Mecca is both a dear friend and an incredibly gifted, thoughtful astrologer; she has also written books and resources like coloring books and astro journals that make fabulous gifts for both the student and the astro-curious. Her readings are no-bullshit (that Aquarius moon!) while maintaining a sense of play and possibility (that Sagittarius sun!). I wholeheartedly recommend anything she touches.
🌈 — Maeg does work that is very complementary to my own with their 5th House readings that focus on creativity, pleasure, and play — always helpful for the artist and writer! Personally, I have received their sun + fixed stars reading, where they envision a crown that you wear/embody — it’s such a special and affirming offering. Subscribe to their Substack for the juiciest, most gorgeously researched and embodied writing on fixed stars.
🌈 Diana Rose Harper — I’ve had a number of readings with Diana, but their WORK YOUR ANGLES: ASTROAESTHETICS CONSULT is easily one of the most impactful readings I’ve ever had. She both affirmed and suggested specific brand and design choices that continue to influence my website, my branding, and this very Substack. (They also gifted me the moniker “philosopher queen” in discussing my Midheaven, etc., which I now consider a touchstone of my archetypal work.) However, there is a caveat that, most of the time, you can only book with Diana if you are a Patreon subscriber. Which is worth it! Her Patreon is excellent and includes monthly live chats that are so, so good.
Aerin Fogel, specifically for her family charts reading which offers a mind-blowing level of insight into how familial patterns are astrologically inherited. Aerin is very considerate and trauma-mindful when such readings inevitably bring up difficult topics, and I really value her approach to ancestral inheritance.
Numerology
🌈 is my co-host on Call Your Coven and is also a brilliant numerologist. Meg and I had a couples’ synastry reading with her years ago that helped sooooo many things about our relationship click into place for me (The Joint Effort is the name of that reading, which you can book here). Bee, as we call her, is both pragmatic and joyful in her approach to spiritual practices, and her sense of humor makes The Math of it all go down so much easier. She has a Substack that you should subscribe to, and if you want a 101 on numbers, check out her intro episode on our podcast or her wonderful book, The Witch’s Book of Numbers: Enhance Your Magic with Numerology.
Tarot
🌈 Meg Jones Wall, obviously. Before we were partners, we were friends, and so trust when I say that I have been learning from Meg for years. I am very, very lucky to get to have them read for me for free on a regular basis (Relationship Perks), and consequently, I have tremendous intimacy with their approach to tarot and spirituality. Meg offers 1:1 readings as well as bespoke monthly tarot spreads, and professional coaching and mentoring, but they also recently launched a members-only Conservatory this year where all of their past courses and exclusive incoming courses are available (!!). Plus, she runs a fabulous Discord community.
was one of my first teachers back in the day, and our relationship has grown to the point that I consider her a surrogate mom. While she has retired from reading for the public, I strongly recommend taking classes with her (her Tarot for Beginners starts October 2nd) or even just watching her IG Lives twice a week (Mondays and Fridays, usually ca. 11am Eastern). She’s the ultimate pragmatist on this list (that Gemini sun/Scorpio moon combo), and I appreciate her ability to not sugarcoat things in a still-supportive way.
Spirit-led work
🌈 for spiritual and divinatory work; these days, you can find her exclusively here on Substack. Amaya has been one of my greatest teachers both about fixed stars and also around living an animistic spiritual vocation. Her wisdom on Mater Medusa and Algol, especially, have been of special import in my life; click the links to check out her profoundly comprehensive workshops on both! I am so deeply grateful to be in community with her.
, who I have studied with for several years now, has been a working witch for longer than most everyone I know. She brings a variety of tools, including tarot and astrology, to her signature Sacred Arts sessions and custom magical commissions, and draws from her diverse lineage to include traditions as varied as curanderismo and hoodoo. Her book Making Magic is the practical guide I wish I’d had when I started dipping my toes in witchcraft a decade ago.
🌈 Sasha Ravitch for witchcraft and Seership. I’ve had several readings with her, and while her uber-popular Haunted Houses ancestral reading is *chefs kiss*, I have to specifically shout out the newly-renamed Storycery package that is geared to writers. It’s a special one-of-a-kind reading; there’s really nothing else like it. She literally reads part of your book! Earlier this year, I was tangling with questions of authorial responsibility and the ethics of representing deity and spirit in my current WIP, and this reading just grounded me in the best way. I was deeply affected by the unique insights, confirmations, and questions Sasha brought to my novel — and relationship to creativity, generally. She also has an active Patreon and Discord community, as well a Substack,
.Astro-Magic / Talismans
Okay, this category is a bit of an outlier. While Kaitlin Coppock’s work with Sphere & Sundry (which I have previously recommended) has carved out the niche of talismanic materia, I want to specifically shout out 🌈 Pallas Augustine and their partner Rain, who make talismans and teach through Idola Stellarum. I love, love, love their quarterly salons, which feel akin to church in the best possible way. The first ever talisman-talisman I bought was from Idola, and I refer to their course materials, available to members, all the time.
