scholarship winner + LAST CALL!
Hi folks,
Thanks to everyone who attended the free workshop on Saturday! There was a really robust and thoughtful discussion, and the energy in the room was so great. I appreciate y’all taking the time out of your weekend to nerd out about astrology with me!
Some news: The LGBTQ+ scholarship winner for this next round of Astrology for Writers: How to Make Your Writing Work for You has been selected, courtesy of my D&D dice collection. If you turned comment notifications off that post, be sure to go back and check to see if that’s you.
ALSO ALSO ALSO! Today is the last day to register for the course at the Early Bird rate!
The early bird pay-in-full rate is $750, and payment plan is $800 (broken out into $200 every other week for 4 weeks). The price goes up a few hundred for both pay-in-full and payment plans as of tomorrow, so this is the more cost effective option.
On another note, some great questions came up in the workshop that I wanted to address so that anyone who was wondering could get a chance to chew on them:
I don’t write fiction. Is this class still applicable to me?
ABSOLUTELY.
First off, I am not a fiction writer (unless you count everything I’ve ever posted on AO3, but we aren’t discussing that today!), and I’ve found astrology to be an incredibly invaluable tool in my personal and professional toolkits.
I mean it when I say this is an astrology class for writers — all writers. We do not get prescriptive based on genre.
Last session, we had playwrights, poets, short story writers, memoirists & other creative nonfiction writers, novelists, and folks with copywriting and marketing day jobs — and entirely unrelated day jobs!
The course is not a writing workshop but, rather, is geared to helping you transform your relationship to your writing process, as well as the behind-the-scenes business of your writing.
What, exactly, does the course cover?
We are going to spend 8 weeks covering the following astrological concepts and components of your own individual birth chart, tying them into your own writing and creative life in every single class session —
Your Sun — your sense of purpose and identity
Your Moon — your emotional life and physical body
Your Ascendant/rising sign — your persona
Your Chart Ruler (the planet that rules your rising sign) — the planet that is in the driver’s seat of your life; your motivation for living
Your Mercury — your relationship to your communication and writing life
Your 3rd House & its Ruler — the part of your birth chart that has to do with your communication and writing life, and what the planet that governs it tells us about the conditions you need to succeed
Your 2nd House & its Ruler — the part of your birth chart that has to do with how you make money, and what the planet that governs it tells us about how you are best positioned to secure your own income
Your 10th House & its Ruler — the part of your birth chart that has to do with public roles & reputation & career, and what the planet that governs it tells us about how you are known in the world
The Midheaven — often called the “career point” in the chart
These astrological concepts are grounded in conversations that examine our own individual mythologies, routines, and business practices as writers. Each session is built with prompts and pre-class workbooks that connect that the astrology of your chart to your real-life practices.
ICYMI, students from the last session continue to leave new and lovely testimonials, and here are some of the latest:
I loved this class! Jeanna is a warm, engaging, super knowledgeable teacher. The writing lens she introduced illuminated the birth chart in new ways, particularly the financial and professional sensibilities that drive us. A welcoming environment, even over Zoom, with thoughtfully planned readings and many practical takeaways — highly recommended for writers and editors.

Astrology for Writers is the perfect blend of stardust and ink. Jeanna created a magical space that not only inspired and supported our creative muses, but also provided tools for practicing craft-entered goals and understanding the values we can build on as authors. The class environment was full of creativity and wit that left me laughing and eager to engage with my writing with fresh eyes!

As always, let me know if you have any questions! Hope to see you in class.
Xx,
Jeanna
P.S. Just a quick tip — Mercury (the planet of communication) enters watery, intuitive, porous Pisces today, so if you need a creative reset, it might be a good time to make a new playlist or brainstorm in the shower.
