speak from the heart: the week of june 8, 2025

This week, we dive head-first into new, more emotionally forward collective energy. Jupiter enters Cancer alongside Mercury, that planet that is so important to writers. Speaking from the heart is the phrase for the week.

Especially with ICE ramping up in Los Angeles here in the United States, leaning into our relationships, into community care, into the knowledge that every single person has a whole interior world just as rich as yours is what will help us not only survive, but build a new world together.

all times are eastern

Sunday, June 8th

4:11pm: Mercury in Gemini conjunct Jupiter in Gemini (29*)

One last rush of buzzy curiosity: right before both Mercury and Jupiter leave trickster Gemini, they join forces. This may look like falling down a research rabbit hole, or like sudden inspiration to join or catch up on

Jami Attenberg
’s #1000WordsofSummer challenge. This is a windfall of stimulation, if you have the time and energy to embrace it.

6:58pm: Mercury enters Cancer

Right after that Gemini high, the planet of writing and communication dives into the water. Here, communication, thought, and the life of the mind are decidedly less buzzy. Less analytical, less obviously clear. Here in Cancer, information arrives through sensory experience: through listening to the body, the heart, the gut.

For these next few weeks, we stand to create our most potent work by leading with the heart. Engaging in activities that encourage this — somatic practices, inner child work, journaling — will help.
