Happy Full Moon!

Moon cycles have a way of reminding us of how far we've come — and how far we've yet to go. Ain't that a bitch.
This Full Moon, occurring at 23* of Sagittarius at 7:51a Eastern on June 14, will reap what we collectively sowed during our last New Moon in Sagittarius, which was a south node eclipse on December 4, 2021. Six months ago, we planted seeds that helped us commit to emptying out certain areas of our life. And now, those seeds are bearing their first fruits.
The last few days, I have been absolutely exhausted. Full moons usually tire me out, but that's not abnormal — I was born under a new moon, and the opposite moon cycle of your birth typically indicates a time when you want to curl up into the fetal position and telekinetically summon comfort foods. But this one has felt like an extended eclipse, even though I knew, definitively, that it was not.
But we're reaping an eclipse's harvest, with the moon in a square to illusory, dreamy Neptune. Like trying to assess our progress in a damp, dark field under hazy moonbeams at midnight.
Oh.
Six months ago, for the New Moon in Sagittarius, I wrote about fields lying fallow. About the itchy discomfort of waiting, of sitting still. Little did I know that those thoughts would herald the ultimate standstill: hospitalization(s), followed by a months long recovery and surgery, during which I somehow (in hindsight: magically) managed to finish final edits on my book.
The experience was harrowing, but it left me in need of even more rest than I'd been before. Summer, I decided, especially after deciding to table my next book project and let it simmer awhile. Focus on input rather than output.
As anyone in any of my group texts can tell you, letting myself "not write" right now is a goddamn struggle. Deconditioning myself from the capitalist/colonialist idea that my worth is tied to my production is ongoing, one of the most difficult things I have ever done. I have no wisdom to give. It feels day-by-day. "Today, I'll be better at resting." As if resting is something to be better at. As if fields have to work on lying fallow.
What I do know is that Sagittarius is where we find our beliefs, and also what we have been taught. Traditionally governing the ninth house of the birth chart, Sagittarius, ruled by healer-teacher Jupiter, is the philosopher, the professor. Sometimes a dilettante, sometimes a zealot — for religion, rationalism, it matters not. Sagittarius is where we are educated by institutions, where we find faith, but also where we can be exposed to new ideas to deconstruct and decondition ourselves from the things that keep us hostage to systems and to ourselves. The truth will set you free.
And sometimes, it will, as Mary Oliver once wrote, encourage us to lie like land used up. This, too, is good.
Writing Prompts for the Full Moon in Sagittarius
Check your calendar, your social, your email, your journal. What were you up to on/around December 4th last year? What seeds were you planting? What were you thinking, maybe I should let go of that? What if I did less of this? about?
What beliefs are you working your way through deconstructing and/or deconditioning right now? Could be big, could be “small”! How are these impacting your creativity, writing, or conception of yourself as a writer?
If you have personal planets or points (e.g. your ascendant or midheaven) on or around (within a few degrees of) 23* Sagittarius, how might those Sagittarius themes, or issues from last year, be exaggerated? Think about the nature of the planet or point in question (e.g., the Moon = emotional life/the body; Mercury = communication, your literal writing; Saturn = responsibilities, work, etc.).
