Happy New Moon day! This week brings a vibe shift, not only because we are doing new and courageous things. Today, artist-lover Venus enters mindful and organized Virgo, helping us get down to the business of creation. On Monday, Mercury stations retrograde, inviting us to revise and rethink our current projects (which will, as always, get its own newsletter).
Between Venus going through Virgo and Mercury stationing Rx in Virgo, this makes the next few weeks an especially fertile time to get your hands dirty in an existing project that needs edits, revisions, and/or structure. If you’re looking for support nailing down the nuts and bolts of your writing routine, then a 3rd House Reading may be helpful! If you’re a nonfiction writer who is starting or struggling through a book proposal, then this comprehensive, 4-part class on How to Write a Book Proposal may be extra supportive right now.
And in case you missed the announcement with yesterday’s New Moon in Leo missive: my partner Meg Jones Wall and I are hosting our first ever collaborative, experiential workshop.
FILL YOUR CUP: TAROT & ASTROLOGY FOR EVERYDAY NOURISHMENT is going to feature a ton of practical strategies for how to use these powerful tools in easeful, accessible ways that are readily folded into your daily life. I know that’s a lot of announcements and promotion, but a girl’s gotta eat. I loved something
recently said: “I have always talked about my newsletter as being the “flagship Fifth Avenue store” of my work: there are other publications and there are books, but this is where you’ll find me and everything I do.” That pretty much sums up how I feel about this newsletter — it’s the home base of everything I do. With social media algorithms getting less and less reliable, this is the place where I trust everyone who has opted in will see the updates and announcements. Sometimes that means that things get a little top-heavy when I’m rolling out a bunch of new things (or starting to come back from health recovery), and I appreciate y’all’s understanding.all times are eastern

10:22pm: Venus enters Virgo
Tonight, Venus turns in her burlesque feathers and does a costume change into a comfy flannel and leggings. It is in Virgo that Venus, the artist and lover of the cosmos, becomes more satisfied by the work, which is to say the process of making something beautiful. In Virgo, Venus is deeply attentive, but it is also here where she is most tempted by the myth of perfectionism. Now, we are invited to consider how we might revise, edit, or otherwise prune our artistic desires and projects. Our challenge is to remember that done is better than perfect.
