My recovery continues. I am now sitting up most of the day, and we even had out-of-town company yesterday who I was able to hang with the whole time. A remarkable feat, given where I was only a few days ago. Bodies are wild.

My improvement is just in time, too. The next Showing Up to the Work writing sprint starts tomorrow afternoon! It’s a “mini” session — only two hours a day, two days a week (Mondays and Wednesdays), for four weeks. If you want to invigorate your writing during the late summer slump, this will help!

We always start sessions with an overview of the day’s astrology, sometimes a Mary Oliver poem, and intention setting, and we close sessions by sharing what we worked on. These groups, which I’ve been running for a year, have already got quite a few books and proposals written and sold. I am honored to be able to hold the space for y’all. Sign up is open until 9am Eastern tomorrow.

come write with me

The Full Moon in Capricorn newsletter will be a bit late — in spite of being able to sit up (!!), my energy only goes so far these days. Thanks for your patience and support, everyone. And now, for the week ahead.

4:43pm: Venus in Leo sextile Jupiter in Gemini (12*)

This is a tremendously busy day, what with the Full Moon in Capricorn kicking us off in the wee hours, but then it turns tremendously creative.

This is an ideal afternoon to take yourself out on an impromptu date with creativity. Go to a museum, or to a park, or on a hike, or cozify your favorite spot in your backyard with your TBR. Venus in Leo wants some glam, so dress for the occasion — put on an outfit that looks/feels good to the senses. Take some writerly thirst traps. Bust out your kookiest glasses — the ones that feed your inner child’s happiness. Dress head-to-toe in Barbie Pink (if you’re like me), or whatever your version of that is.

If you write, amazing. But if not: also amazing.

The point today is to feed your creative juices and to get in touch with your creativity and inspiration and muses in a way that reminds you that you are a glorious creative creature — no matter what “productivity” says.
