ICYMI, the last lunar newsletter “the new moon in cancer and the fall of empire,” has been certified as a Banger by the astrology for writers Discord members.

Also also also. A reminder that I am having a major surgery this week and so will not be as prompt in responding to email! I know capitalism has trained us all to expect immediate customer service responsiveness, but I am but one woman who will be recovering from a real-life Grey’s Anatomy episode. I beg your patience.

Re: being but one woman. Because I need to take (at least) two weeks completely off work (ideally four, but I’m fighting my partner/surgeon/PCP/agent/friends on that), my income as a self-employed person this month is going to be a lot tighter than normal. If you get a lot out of this newsletter and feel moved to send a little something my way, it would be incredibly appreciated (link for PayPal; my Venmo handle is jeanna-kadlec). And of course, you can always upgrade your subscription to this newsletter!

July 8th

7:04am: Venus in Cancer sextile Uranus in Taurus (26*)

Sometimes, the planets move in ways that force us to take notice. Creatrix Venus’ brief interaction with Uranus, the planet of uprising and revolution, invites us to disrupt our ideas about pleasure. How might we be more open to receiving goods and attention? How has our relationship to aesthetics grown a bit stale? This is a quick moment: an invitation to experiment with genre (as discussed here!), to play with social media branding. The solution might be as quick as a chapter edit. Release expectations and see what happens.
