After last week’s busyness with multiple planets changing signs, this is a very light week. Thank fuck. We deserve.
There is a New Moon in Taurus on Tuesday, the same day as the week’s sole planetary aspect, which will, as always, get its own newsletter.
Because this week only has one aspect, outside of the New Moon, I’ve decided to make this week’s edition open to all subscribers. This week is also written in the spirit of the Writing With the Moon series, which will return next week.
Before we press on: A reminder that my 3rd house writing routine readings are booking up fast! If you’re interested in getting this reading, sign up here:
Here’s what folks who have had a reading about their writing routines had to say:
Jeanna's third house reading was an essential part of the process towards developing a writing practice that works best for me. She allowed me to let go of rules I’d imposed on myself that weren’t serving me, as well as affirming that the very thing I try to avoid could be the thing that would unlock what was blocking me (spoiler: it was).
— Frankie de la Cretaz, co-author of HAIL MARY: THE RISE AND FALL OF THE NATIONAL WOMEN’S FOOTBALL LEAGUE
My 3rd House reading with Jeanna occurred within a stressful writing project that had continued to drag on infinitely. With her sharp astro-writer perspective, she immediately cut through the toxic fog of stories I’d held about writing that, quite simply, were not mine to cling to. Since our reading — nearly two years ago now! — I’ve continued to explore the core takeaways, improving not just my writing but my overall creativity in the process. I highly highly recommend working with Jeanna if identifying YOUR writerly embodiment is a priority for you.
— Diana Rose Harper, astrologer and co-creator of the ROSEBUD TAROT
Jeanna is a knowledgeable and welcoming reader and the chance to explore my natal chart in this craft-specific way was enlightening and fun. Being reminded of the sacred routine aspect of third-house activities helped me to reframe my practice at a perfect time. Energizing and collaborative, our conversation was a great way to approach a writing routine from a new angle and left me excited for future readings. Highly recommended (and I am picky about who reads for me).

And now, for the (short) week ahead!

1:42pm: Sun in Taurus sextile Saturn in Pisces (17*)
Roughly 10 or so hours before the New Moon, the sun and Saturn have a gentle conversation out in the garden. They sit in wicker chairs amidst the re-wilded native grasses growing in the yard, the pigeons and grackles and orioles and even blue jays flitting between the bird feeder and birdbath. The sun draws her knees up to her chest, sighing in contentment, as Saturn glares at a squirrel, daring them to fight the birds for nourishment. The sun’s light attracts all manner of creatures, and Saturn is there to help build a boundary (any boundary). They say nothing, our two planetary characters, but merely enjoy the small paradise they’ve created.
This is a fleeting moment. Sextiles, which are nurturing, 60-degree angles between plants in complementary elements (air to fire, earth to water), always are. They lack the river-rush inspiration of trines, the varied frictions and fights caused by oppositions and squares, the birthing pains (and joys) of conjunctions. But they are gentle check-ins and DTRs which allow us to take stock.
In this moment, our earthy Taurus sun isn’t building. She’s thinking about building. The New Moon isn’t yet here. This is the dark moon, after all: the hours before birth, a period of contemplation and integration. Of enjoying what we’ve done so far in the backyard, and of taking stock for what we’d like to change. The sun — our sense of purpose — is supported, by Saturn, known for being a taskmaster but particularly creative and sensitive in Pisces. He’s ready with a new rock to put in the birdbath to weigh it down. Saturn here helps us steady our expectations, hopes, and wishes for what we are planting this New Moon, reminding us that all things come in good time. The sun doesn’t find Saturn dower, in these moments. She finds his support grounding.
They notice the wildflowers just starting to peek up in the spring yard, and smile.

Beautiful 🥹💗🌸🌺🌻🪷🐦🪻✨
I love! this visual of the planets out in the garden having a little chit chat. So beautifully put, I love this perspective and the nod to Saturn in his sweet grounded form helping us in our purpose by placing a stone in the birdbath. It all feels so gentle, which transmits the sextile energy in such an embodied living way. Love it!
