8:59pm: Mercury enters Gemini

Just ahead of Monday’s New Moon, we get an additional burst of Gemini energy with Mercury, its ruling planet, flying into the sign of the trickster-twins.

Every single planetary aspect this week is one being made by Mercury. This is a week for soaring high and swooping low, for paying attention to what is above and what is below. For psychopomps and time-traveling, for standing at the crossroads and welcoming/witnessing what comes through.

Hello, curiosity. Hello, research rabbit holes. Hello, new conversations with old friends that reinvigorate lost dreams. This is a time to re-evaluate what counts as “work”: to go for a walk in nature, or to another showing of [Mercury in Gemini native!] Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, and know that it is filling your creative cup. To shop your own bookshelf for something you haven’t read. To play in the sandbox of new creative projects sheerly for the joy, with little care for “production.”

And, of course, to write. Hold your pen lightly. As much as you can, keep your inner critic in the backseat. You can’t edit a blank page — this is a time to write without care for what is “usable.”

9:45pm: Mercury in Gemini sextile Saturn in Aries (0*)

Make lists. Review your outlines. Stay flexible with writing this week, but as much as feels right for your personal way of creating, give yourself enough rails so that you aren’t sitting down at your desk wondering what to do.
