writing with the moon: the realest oracle

I struggled to channel the moon message this week. Already, the constricting expectations of “but people are expecting something else.” Even as I had set this up as experimental. As playful. As something that could take many forms.

I am a very routine-oriented person; in this, rules and rituals are something I find comfort in. Call it my Capricorn luminaries or Saturn-ruled ascendant. I am religious in my spiritual practice and in my life, generally; I like established relationships, established formats, clear expectations. This also applies to my writing. I typically know how most of the newsletters will be written and organized, even if I’m not entirely sure of their content before I sit down at my desk.

But this offering is a new, slimy, wet thing: just slithered out of the wombscape, still in process of being formed. And I don’t know about you, but I struggle to give myself permission to experiment — especially in front of others.

So here I am: experimenting.

The oracle cards I pulled were too explicit to ignore.

all times are eastern

The moon is currently void in Aries. It will enter Taurus this evening at 8:28pm. The moon will be void at 6:29pm on Wednesday, and will enter Gemini Thursday night at 11:15pm. The moon will be in Gemini until the wee hours of Sunday morning, when it stations void at 12:42am and enters Cancer at 5:40am.

This week, we are moving through the moons with Kendra Austin’s The Realest Oracle.

(Yes, I pulled these cards. This deck is loud like that.)
