I appreciate the debunking of the idea that Jupiter returns are "lucky" years! I've seen it play out in challenging ways both in my own life and in clients' life -- regardless of whether Jupiter is dignified by sign / severely afflicted or not, too. Love your description of it!

Have you read Chiron in Love by Liz Greene? I’m fascinated by this asteroid bc it’s sitting right on top of my moon in an exact trine with my sun/Pluto and NN, and this book brought up some interesting questions for me in light of the myth. It made me think about how Chiron begged for death because the pain from his wound was so painful and beyond his healing skills. It’s like Chiron shows us where we are able to heal others through our deepest wounds, but may not necessarily be able to heal those wounds for ourselves. Maybe we aren’t even supposed to heal those wounds ourselves in this lifetime. Maybe where Chiron is indicates where we need outside intervention for our healing (petitioning the gods for a swift death). I have a lot of thoughts about Chiron after reading that book!

I haven’t! I do think the wounded healer aspect is overemphasized in delineations tbqh. But it’s definitely part of it!

I can see that! This book was heavy on the “eat the meat, leave the bones”, but it gave me so much to think about. I’m excited to open my books and practice with actual charts to get more of a feel for how Chiron shows up.

I'm going to check out this book, thank you! Chiron is in the same place as my sun (in Aries) and I just finished my Chiron return and it was all about digging deep into my past in order to let go of those old wounds and step fully into myself in the present -- I just learned all of this, so I'm interested in finding out more about Chiron for sure.

You’re welcome! This book definitely got me thinking. I didn’t know much about Chiron before reading this other than the myth it comes from and a little about its astrology, but I thought it was interesting that she approached Chiron as a symbol of envy, rage, compassion, and wisdom.

Very helpful breakdown, thank you! I’m in the midst of my opening Saturn square (but didn’t know it) & full nodal return. It makes total sense 😅

I'm glad it's helpful!

This is a question I’ve long held. Thank you for the breakdown. I suppose a follow up is how might one prepare for this life shakeups — particularly the Chiron return and Uranus opposition?

Jeanna, thank you for packing in so much information so succinctly and clearly! I've been feeling the Saturn square but haven't placed it in the greater context of all these other transits, so this post feels like seeing a larger map of the journey. It's also helpful because I'm currently deep in the work of an author who, although deceased, is currently experiencing their Saturn opposition, and it feels like the work of theirs I've inherited is going through that critical tension ("playground tug of war" is so on point). I appreciate this post being an opportunity to reflect on these aspects!
