We were doing a bunch of renovations when I was pregnant with my third, and I was not at ALL ready for her on her due date, so I told her if she could wait, that would be awesome, and she waited another two weeks, until we had everything set up and ready. I guess this really is a thing you can do, if your mom did it too.
I went into labor and my husband decided it would be a great time to put another layer of varnish on the refinished floor, since we'd be out of the house all day. I have such a memory of randomly picking flowers out of the garden and sticking them into a jar, walking around my driveway, telling a neighbor I was just waiting for Dave to finish shellacking the floor or whatever so we could go to the hospital.
It seemed reasonable at the time. We still mock him for it. We renovated our house for 14 years, and a lot of it was shoehorning in a task here and there when we could. It wasn't until I typed my comment above that I realized I have no idea what happened to that jar of flowers. Did I just leave them in the driveway? Probably? I never saw them again.
A former boyfriend of mine has a 12/22 birthday. When I first started studying astrology formally I requested birth chart data from anyone willing to share it so I would have sample charts to study. He sent me his data and I pulled the chart. I was weirdly dumbfounded to find that he was a Capricorn. I'd spent nearly 20 years assuming he was a Sagittarius. I messaged him immediately (Basically, WTH?!?) and he responded that he likes to pretend he's a Sagittarius, so my presumption wasn't totally unfounded. But as soon as I saw it, so many things clicked into place. People happen when they're supposed to.
That's so real (but lol at him pretending to be a Sag). I find that a lot of folks assume I'm a fire sign, which I generally assume is them picking up on the significant Sag placements in my chart. But then, lots of cuspers (so-called) tend to have personal planets in the adjoining sign, which makes sense why that energy would express (as you well know).
Yes, I get read as a Sag all the time. But my Asc is in Sag, so that also makes some sense if you subscribe to the Asc as the door to your house theory. (I also have a personal planet and my chart ruler in Sag and my moon in Leo. So, Earth sign is the last thing people assume initially. LOL)
Waving in December 10 birthday! And also in "you were SO LATE!" My mother used to claim I was a full 3 weeks late, but, um, it was probably more like 10 days. Anyhow! From one late Saggitarian to another ... happy birthday!

OK, I have always been VERY date curious and now I’m beginning to wonder if some of my superstitions are some kind of connection to astrological thinking. Here come my feelings about dates in no particular order.
1. Dates have never felt like coincidences to me. They always have felt like something specific. Even when I was poo-poo’d away from anything astrological growing up (because Jesus).
2. During the deeper trauma healing years for me (2019-2022), I began sensing that birthdays are some of the moments when “the veil” gets the thinnest. And I kind of began sensing that when a person is born, their “birthday family” from beyond is cheering them on and giving them gifts for this life.
3. I just learned this year that my wedding anniversary (Dec 10), which I chose because it’s the day my grandparents got married after WWII, is also Emily Dickinson’s birthday. I nearly burst through the roof (which is funny because we’re both deeply satisfied homebodies). It felt like a THING.
I’m not sure I know much about astrology to talk in the lingo but I do like patterns and movement that comes in cycles. All this to say, I don’t really feel like I’ve ever identified as a “creative” or an “artist” but more as a “voice.” And I’m wondering how to claim that as I’m walking toward my birthday on Jan. 9.
P.S. Do due dates mean something here? My mom told almost the same story as yours: I was two weeks late during snow storms but oh ha ha hum hum God’s timing is perfect.

Omg that's amazing! I simply cannot imagine doing renovations while ~that~ pregnant. Beast mode.
