Love this 💜💜💜 Was literally just talking with our mutual friend Bee last week about how ideas and stories need time to gestate, be born, and grow up before they're ready to go out in the world--and how as they grow up sometimes they grow in ways you didn't expect. And like a real human child it can take a long time to happen. As a disabled writer who writes really long, complex books I often get impatient and want them NOT to take 3 years and numerous full rewrites to release, but...if I'm honest, like the title of this post, it takes the time it takes and it is always worth the time, in the end.

I appreciate your perspective on this. I really feel like I needed to read that today! As someone living with a chronic illness and two neurodivergent disabilities, it’s so easy to get frustrated with the process, especially when you see how fast other people complete their projects. Thank you for giving me another viewpoint and reminding me to slow down. I can’t wait to read the book you’re working on 💗
